Annalena Burbok, who assumed the post of President of the UN General Assembly on September 14, allowed the possibility of sending a UN peacekeeping mission to Ukraine after reaching a peace agreement.

"Such peacekeeping missions are needed more than ever before and not only in Europe. If a peace agreement is reached in Ukraine, it must be protected as much as possible. And if the majority of member states declare that this will also require Blue Helmets, then we hope this can ensure lasting peace," Berbok said in an interview with Bild.

At the same time, she stressed that sending UN peacekeepers to Ukraine is possible only after the end of the Ukrainian conflict.
