Sobyanin wished the residents of Lugansk peace and prosperity
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated the residents of Lugansk on the 230th anniversary of the city. Since 2022, Moscow specialists have been helping the city to restore buildings, repair roads and bridges, and put the engineering and communal structure in order.
Sobyanin emphasized in his channel in the MAX that there are many glorious pages in the history of the twin city. "At the present stage, Lugansk has gone through tremendous trials, shown courage, perseverance and returned to its homeland, Russia," he wrote.
Moscow specialists have renovated two comfortable park areas for the anniversary of the city — the Square of Glory and the square named after the Fighters of the Revolution, the mayor of the capital said. He stressed that this contributes to the return of the capital of the Luhansk People's Republic to a peaceful life.
Sobyanin wished the residents of Lugansk "good health, peace, prosperity and great success in creative work." "Moscow will continue to be a reliable friend and assistant of Lugansk in the implementation of its development plans," he assured.
Earlier, Sobyanin said that in Lugansk and Donetsk, specialists from Moscow are restoring residential buildings, social facilities and engineering networks, sometimes working in dangerous conditions. In addition, with Moscow's support, public spaces are being created there, post offices, bridges and overpasses are being restored, and cities are being prepared for the autumn-winter season.
