The confiscation of Russia's frozen assets could cost Western countries $285 billion. This was reported on September 14 by the RIA Novosti news agency with reference to the national statistical data of the countries.
According to forecasts, by the end of 2023, the volume of direct investments of the European Union, the G7 countries, as well as Australia, Norway and Switzerland in the Russian economy amounted to $285 billion.
The largest investor among the G7 countries was the United States, with American assets in Russia reaching approximately $7.7 billion.
