Venezuelan authorities have accused the United States of detaining a fishing vessel.
A US destroyer squadron has detained a Venezuelan fishing vessel. This was announced on September 13 by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil.
"On September 12, the Venezuelan ship Carmen Rosa, carrying nine humble tuna fishermen, <...> was illegally and hostilely attacked by the US Navy destroyer USS Jason Dunham (DDG-109)," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
Gil noted that the fishermen were detained about 89 km northeast of the island of La Blanquilla, in waters belonging to the exclusive economic zone of Venezuela.
On September 11, the Venezolana de Televisiontv channel reported that the President and commander-in-chief of the Venezuelan armed forces, Nicolas Maduro, had put into effect an active defense plan for the country. He stressed that Venezuela would defend the peace it had won on its own. According to the President of the country, the operation called Independence-200 will take place throughout the country, 284 fronts will be involved.
