Dmitriev demanded responsibility from Western media after Kirk's murder
Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Cooperation with Foreign Countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), issued a call for accountability for Western media on September 13, commenting on the murder of American activist Charlie Kirk.
"The constant false claims of the traditional media have led to a global disaster. It's time to act. The media must be held accountable. The lies must stop," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
It is clarified that Dmitriev responded in this way to the publication of US President Donald Trump on Truth Social, where he posted a video in which the girl called for the return of laws regulating media responsibility to the country.
Kirk died on September 10 after an assassination attempt during his speech at the University of Utah.
According to the New York Post, the suspect in the shooting at Kirk is 22-year-old resident of Utah Tyler Robinson. Utah Governor Spencer Cox later confirmed the arrest of a murder suspect. According to him, a family member of the suspect contacted a family friend, who then contacted law enforcement with information that Robinson had confessed to him about the incident.
