The construction of a new military hospital in Kursk has been completed. This was announced on September 13 by Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Anna Tsivileva.

"In accordance with the tasks set by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation at an expanded meeting of the board for the renovation of leading military medical organizations, a modern military hospital with a polyclinic was built in a short time in the city of Kursk," she is quoted as saying in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The medical institution includes administrative and polyclinic, medical and diagnostic, ward, infectious diseases, garage and warehouse buildings, as well as auxiliary units. A total of 21 buildings were erected, the total area exceeded 26 thousand square meters. m.

According to Tsivileva, the hospital is equipped with modern equipment, including a CT scanner, expert-class ultrasound machines, endoscopic stands and laser equipment for vascular and general surgery, which will allow doctors to perform complex operations and diagnoses for patients with various types of wounds and injuries. It is noted that in total, more than 13 thousand pieces of equipment have been installed within the walls of the hospital.

She also clarified that the interdisciplinary interaction of specialists of various profiles makes it possible to provide the most effective medical care, conduct military medical commissions and provide conditions for the rehabilitation of military personnel. As Tsivileva emphasized, an integrated approach to treatment includes psychological support.

Departments for high-quality treatment in all areas will also start operating, including neurological, surgical, therapeutic and skin-venereological departments, operating units, and an express laboratory. Dmitry Trishkin, Head of the Main Military Medical Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and Alexander Khinshtein, Acting Governor of the Kursk Region, examined the hospital.

"In order for the specialists who work at this hospital to provide high-quality medical care, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation instructed one of our leading military medical centers to organize the supervision of each such new facility," Trishkin said.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the Main Military Clinical Hospital named after N. N. Burdenko will be assigned to the medical institution, whose specialists will regularly come for operations and perform specialized surgical interventions using telemedicine consultations. According to Trishkin, over time, this will make the Kursk hospital a mainstay in terms of providing the necessary assistance to the military of the entire city in the shortest possible time.

"With the introduction of this state-of-the-art, high-tech hospital, this problem is becoming a thing of the past. Now it is possible to provide a full range of medical services here," the acting governor of the region added.

Earlier, on August 28, oncologist surgeon, professor of the Department of Faculty Surgery No. 2 at Sechenov University Sergey Polikarpov, in an interview with Izvestia, pointed out the role of military medicine in the war zone. According to him, while working at the hospital, he prepared for the specifics of combat injuries and actively studied intensive care and surgical interventions for combat injuries. He paid special attention to the issue of evacuating the wounded from the battlefield.
