- In Britain, Kirk's murder was called a reason for a rally of the far-right in the country.
The murder of American political activist Charlie Kirk has sparked the largest far-right rally in Britain in recent decades. This was reported on September 13 by The Guardian newspaper.
The event was organized by the far-right anti-Islamic activist Tommy Robinson. It is noted that former chief strategist of US President Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, will also take part in the action.
"Charlie Kirk's murder is being used by Tommy Robinson to rally support ahead of what is expected to be the largest far-right rally in Britain in decades," the publication says.
The rally is expected to gather over 40,000 participants. In particular, as The Guardian clarifies, prominent figures and speakers from not only the UK, but also from all over Europe and the USA come to London to participate in the event.
A counter-protest is planned as part of the rally, which will be organized by the "Stand up to Racism" movement. The march will be led by the Women against the Extreme Right group.
According to the Reuters news agency, the London police are preparing for large-scale clashes against the background of the rallies. It is expected that on Saturday, September 13, more than 1.6 thousand employees will be involved in the city, including 500 attracted from other departments, as important football matches are also scheduled to take place in London.
Charlie Kirk, who contributed to Trump's victory in the presidential election, died on September 10 as a result of an assassination attempt against him. The next day, American Time magazine released a cover dedicated to Kirk's murder, with the word "Enough is enough" written in large letters on a red background. Kirk's widow Erica suggested that his death could have been caused by the fact that he preached patriotism, faith and the merciful love of God.
Against the background of the incident, Trump ordered to lower the national flags on all US administrative buildings until 18:00 (01:00 Moscow time) on September 14. He also announced that he would go to Kirk's funeral.
