- The forces of the Baltic Fleet destroyed the saboteurs of the imaginary enemy at the Zapad-2025 exercises
As part of the Zapad-2025 exercises, the Northern Fleet practiced a missile battle against an amphibious detachment of a simulated enemy on the Northern Sea Route. This was announced on September 13 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
"According to the plan of the exercise, the movement of underwater objects that are unauthorized in the water area was recorded in the areas of the fleet's ships," the department said in a Telegram channel message.
It is noted that patrol boats went to the locations of these objects. The servicemen used detection equipment to identify and destroy the forces of the imaginary enemy using DP-61 "Duel" grenade launchers. In addition, during the exercises, the personnel of the Baltic Fleet managed to prevent the breakthrough of conditional saboteurs to the ships.
"The exercise involved patrol boats of the Grachonok and Raptor types, special and robotic equipment for monitoring the underwater situation, over 15 units of military and special equipment and up to 200 military personnel," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The day before, the ships of the Baltic Fleet began exercises to repel the air attacks of a simulated enemy as part of the joint strategic exercise Zapad-2025 with Belarus. The Ministry of Defense explained that with the help of radio surveillance, the ship on duty detected the approach of a simulated enemy aircraft. The raid was simulated by Su-30SM, Su-24M and Mi-8 helicopters of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation, which were moving towards the fleet parking areas from different directions and at different heights. The ships were put on alert for the use of air defense systems, and combat crews began collecting and analyzing data on the air situation.
