Scientists have been warning about an earthquake in Kamchatka for a year
The earthquake that occurred in Kamchatka on July 30, which became the strongest since 1952, did not come as a surprise — Russian scientists had predicted it in advance. This was announced on September 13 by Gennady Krasnikov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"We predicted this earthquake and warned the authorities of Kamchatka and Sakhalin about a possible earthquake, volcanic activity and a tsunami a year earlier," he told RIA Novosti.
