The German Ministry of Finance has reduced the requested funding for assistance to Ukraine by 10.6 billion euros, which will lead to a reduction in arms supplies to Kiev. This was reported on September 12 by the Bild newspaper with reference to documents from the German Ministry of Defense.

As follows from an official document of the German defense Ministry sent to members of the Bundestag at the end of August, the Ministry of Defense in June requested €15.8 billion from the Ministry of Finance for next year and €12.8 billion for 2027 to help Ukraine. However, in both years, only €9 billion was allocated, taking into account the funds of the European Union (EU). Thus, the difference between the requested and approved financing over two years will amount to €10.6 billion.

According to the newspaper, contracts with the Ukrainian defense industry should now be suspended, while measures to support the country's armed forces will be partially reduced or canceled.

On September 11, Ukrainian Defense Minister Denis Shmygal announced that the German company Rheinmetall had received land from Ukraine for the construction of a factory specializing in the production of ammunition.

Rheinmetall signed a contract on September 8 to supply Ukraine with mobile anti-drone systems. It was specified that Kiev will receive the first shipments of weapons this year. Rheinmetall's production facilities are capable of producing from 70 to 100 Skyranger systems annually, with the prospect of increasing to 200 units.
