The Polish Sejm has adopted a bill on amendments to some laws to verify the right to family benefits for foreigners, primarily Ukrainians. This became known on September 12 from a document on the website of the Seimas.

"The project concerns the tightening of the system of receiving family benefits for foreigners, primarily from Ukraine. The new rules provide for a link between the right to benefits <...> and activity on the labor market and the education of children in Polish schools. Exceptions are, for example, people with disabilities," the bill says.

It is also emphasized that restrictions will be imposed on the provision of medical services to adult citizens of Ukraine.

TVP Info TV channel reported on August 25 that Polish President Karol Nawrocki vetoed a bill implying the extension of special status and benefits for refugees from Ukraine. Only those Ukrainians who make efforts to work in Poland will be able to receive benefits.
