Three people, including one child, were killed and five injured in an accident involving three cars in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was announced on the evening of August 12 in the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

"There was a collision of three cars on the highway near the village of Malaya Pica. As a result of the accident <...> three people were killed, including one child," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.

It is specified that of the five victims, which also included a minor, two were taken to medical institutions. The department added that three specialists and one piece of equipment were sent to the accident site.

Representatives of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation informed Izvestia on August 12 that 325 road accidents were recorded in Russia during the day, in which 33 people were killed and 383 more were injured. It was noted that the number of road accidents included 52 incidents involving persons under the age of majority, of whom there were no fatalities.
