A series of events under the general title "Friend, Rescuer, Defender" ended at the sites of the Pets in Moscow project. Demonstration performances of service dogs, lectures, master classes, competitions, veterinary consultations and meetings with artists took place from May 24 to September 14 in more than 70 districts of the capital, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

"This season, the program has brought together more than 30 thousand people. The participants learned about the peculiarities of different breeds and practiced their training," said the vice mayor. "Dog owners and their pets from nine regions of our country joined the competition."

The most ambitious event was the second open championship of the Russian Cynological Federation in agility (overcoming obstacle courses at speed). Representatives of Moscow, Yaroslavl, Tver, Nizhny Novgorod, Vologda and other regions participated in the competition.
The program "A dog is a friend in the service of the Fatherland" proved popular with the guests. Within its framework, the audience saw performances by employees and their wards from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Customs Service and Rosgvardiya.

The Pets in Moscow project is being implemented as part of the Mayor's My District program. It is aimed at creating comfortable living conditions throughout the capital — from comfortable courtyards and parks to modern infrastructure facilities near the house.

The "Friend, Rescuer, Defender" cycle became part of the main event of the warm season — "Summer in Moscow", during which educational, cultural, charity and sports events were held throughout the city from the beginning of summer to September 14.
