The investigation of former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov's 1.3 billion-ruble bribery case has been completed. This was announced on September 12 by his lawyer Denis Baluyev to Izvestia.

"Today we were notified about the end of the criminal case. There are about 300 volumes in the case, we will start reviewing them on Monday, September 15," Baluyev said.

He added that Ivanov had pleaded not guilty to the new charges.

The former deputy minister was detained on April 23, 2024. He is charged with receiving a bribe. According to investigators, he entered into a criminal conspiracy with the heads of contractors who worked at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense. Ivanov signed contracts with them in exchange for a personal reward.

On July 1, he was sentenced to 13 years in a penal colony. In addition, he must pay a fine of 100 million rubles. He was also stripped of his state award and the title of Honored Builder of the Russian Federation. On August 21, it was reported that the Presnensky Court of Moscow would consider the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office for the transfer of Ivanov's property to the state revenue, the total value of which is 1.2 billion rubles.

On August 28, it became known from the files of the Presnensky Court of Moscow that on September 23, the trial of the seizure of the property of former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov to the state revenue would begin.
