The leader of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Heya, is alive and visited the grave of his son who died in Doha under heavy security. This was announced on September 12 by the press service of the movement.

It is noted that special security measures were observed when visiting the grave.
A Hamas negotiating delegation that arrived in the Qatari capital of Doha to discuss a plan proposed by the United States for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip was attacked on September 9. On the same day, White House press Secretary Carolyn Leavitt announced attempts by American President Donald Trump to warn Qatar about the impending strikes, which were undertaken too late.
Shortly after, the Palestinian movement reported that six people were killed in the attack, including the son of Hamas leader Khalil al-Haya and a Qatari officer. The movement's negotiating team survived.
On the same day, the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Anthony Guterres, condemned the Israeli strikes on Qatar, calling them a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this state.
