Endocrinologist and nutritionist Anton Polyakov said that sausage and cheese sandwiches cannot be called a healthy breakfast, but regular snacks during the day can lead to excess weight.

In conversation with aif.ru On Friday, September 12, the specialist explained that any sandwich usually consists of bread with yeast and baking powder, the quality of which often leaves much to be desired. He recalled that sausages have long been classified as a group of products that increase the risk of cancer with regular consumption.

The doctor added that there are many fakes among cheese products, where surrogates are used instead of milk fats. Even natural, high-quality cheese, he says, can cause problems: many people have an intolerance to cow's casein protein, which leads to gastrointestinal disorders and edema. In general, sandwiches are a very high—calorie snack that quickly saturates, but not for long.

Polyakov stressed that frequent snacking on sandwiches can lead to overweight and obesity. Therefore, according to him, it is worth resorting to this option only as a last resort, if there is absolutely no other food, the website writes. kp.ru .

In July, therapist Daria Umrik said that the combination of tea and sausage sandwiches is dangerous for the liver. According to her, tea by itself does not directly harm the liver due to its composition. But the habit of combining it with high—calorie snacks can trigger non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, a condition in which fat is deposited in the cells of the organ, reports 360.ru .

Earlier, gastroenterologist Sergey Vyalov warned that sandwiches with cheese, sausage and mayonnaise can be harmful to health.
