The search for other people who may be involved in the murder of activist Charlie Kirk in Utah will continue. This was announced on September 12 by the head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Kash Patel, as reported by CNN.

"Just last night, the suspect was detained at 22:00 local time (5:00 Moscow time. — Ed.)," said Patel.

He added that the investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement agencies intend to find and detain any suspect who may have participated in this crime.

On September 10, Kirk died after being shot in the neck during an event at the University of Utah. Later, on September 12, US President Donald Trump said that the suspect in Kirk's murder was "highly likely" in custody. In addition, he also called for Kirk's killer to be sentenced to death.

According to the New York Post, the suspect in the shooting at Kirk is 22-year-old resident of Utah Tyler Robinson. Utah Governor Spencer Cox later confirmed the arrest of a murder suspect. According to him, a family member of the suspect contacted a family friend, who then contacted law enforcement with information that Robinson had confessed to him about the incident.
