A new Pinocchio trailer has been released

The film companies Vodorod and Art Pictures Studio, the National Media Group, Channel One, Plus Studio, distributor NMG Kinoprokat (part of the National Media Group holding) and Art Pictures Distribution, with the support of the Cinema Foundation, present the main trailer for the most anticipated New Year's tale "Pinocchio" based on the book by Alexei Tolstoy "Golden the key, or The Adventures of Pinocchio." The new film will be released in wide distribution on January 1, 2026 — exactly 50 years after the premiere of the beloved television movie "The Adventures of Pinocchio".

The main characters of the fairy tale were the first to see the new Pinocchio trailer and could not remain without comments.

Pinocchio: "I think it's great that my... okay, not just my... adventures continue to inspire people, even whole new generations. It's a great pride, tell me! I plan to continue bullying so that young and grown-up children, who are adults, will always have something to watch movies, be together and laugh about. And I will always remind you all that friendship, honesty and courage, and especially the courage to be yourself, the only one, is very, very important, and it can lead you to the most unexpected discoveries."

Karabas: "To be honest, of course there are small worries about how I will be portrayed in this film. I am a public, serious person, the head of the Bolshoi Theater named after myself. But the creators of the new "Pinocchio" are very sensitive and respectful to both the literary original and the previous TV movie. Based on the materials that Duremar showed me (I don't know where he got it from, but I'm not surprised) I can tell that everything looks very decent. Of course, they show me being a little exaggeratedly angry, but I'm a director myself, I understand everything about the dramatic elements. Anyway, we are waiting for the premiere at our theater. The tickets are already sold out."

Alice: "I just can't believe that the last movie is turning 50, and I'm still 29. I am very happy that the new "Pinocchio" is coming out, I generally think that it is necessary to shoot more about us all — about Pinocchio, about Basilio and me, about me alone and then about me alone. My only requirement to the producers was that if I return so loudly to the big screens, only Vika Isakova, my favorite actress, can play Alice (me, that is)! That's why I'm happy with everything, it will be very beautiful, multifaceted, so, you know, not just some kind of "thief", as the yellow press likes to write, but of course the main female character of this fairy tale. Basilio: "When I heard that they were going to shoot a new Pinocchio, the most important thing for me was who would be the director. Igor Voloshin — there are no questions, I really love his films. For example, I am even more touching and emotional in this fairy tale, I have long wanted people to understand this about me. What if you catch me stealing or cheating there — it's all just for something very noble, and you don't have to start shouting and calling someone right away. And when our beloved Alexey Lvovich Rybnikov joined the new film, it became clear that neither we nor our Pinocchio would be offended or deceived. I'm really looking forward to the premiere and, as I was promised, a "personal rebranding."

The new Pinocchio was turned into a movie by the young star of Russian cinema Vitaly Kornienko using computer technology "motion capture", Papa Carlo is played by Alexander Yatsenko, Malvina by Anastasia Talyzina, Artemon by Mark Eidelstein, Stepan Belozerov became the lyrical Pierrot, Ruzil Minekaev became the merry Harlequin. The main villain of Karabas is Fyodor Bondarchuk, and his accomplice Duremar is Lev Zulkarnaev. The film "Pinocchio" was created by studios and producers who gave viewers such favorite movie hits as the trilogy "Ice" and "One Hundred Years ahead", and the film was directed by Igor Voloshin ("The Wizard of Oz. The Yellow Brick Road", "The Lord of the Wind"). Maxim Zhukov, who received this year's NIKA Award from the Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts for Best cinematography for the film The Master and Margarita, is the operator of Pinocchio. The script of the new old fairy tale was written by Andrey Zolotarev, Aksinya Borisova and Alina Tyazhlova.

The film will feature legendary melodies by People's Artist of Russia Alexei Rybnikov, the creator of the original soundtrack for the 1975 TV movie. In addition, he is also working on the musical design of Igor Voloshin's new Pinocchio. This year, Alexey Lvovich was awarded the award "For Outstanding Contribution to Russian Cinema" at the Golden Eagle National Film Award. In Igor Voloshin's Pinocchio, you can hear Alexey Rybnikov's familiar and beloved melodies: "Boo-ra-ti-no", "The Song of the Cat and the Fox", "Pierrot's Serenade", "The Song of the Lamplighters (Papa Carlo)", "The Romance of the Tortoise Tortilla", as well as several original tracks., including an updated version of "Boo-ra-ti-no", specially reinterpreted by the legendary composer for the new film.

The main part of the filming of the new "Pinocchio" took place in the Moskino Film Park, where an absolutely unique site was specially built — a real Italian town at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries — with a town hall square, fountains, a bakery and pharmacy, merchants' shops and a trattoria. The area of the natural site "Pinocchio" of the Moskino Film Park is 7 thousand square meters.
