Tourist tax to be introduced in Tyumen
A tourist tax will be introduced in Tyumen from January 1, 2026. It will be paid by all organizations and individuals who provide temporary accommodation services for guests. We are talking about hotels, hostels, hotels and other facilities.
The DK edition.RU writes that the amount of the tax rate will be determined by the city council. The discussion is still at the initial stage. In turn, the city administration said that tax rates will be regulated by regulatory legal acts. So, this year the maximum rate will not exceed 1% of the tax base, in 2026 — 2%, then every year it will increase by one percentage point, and from 2029 it will reach 5%.
The fee will not be paid by tourists, but by businesses and individual entrepreneurs who provide temporary accommodation services.
According to the <url> news agency, the proceeds from the new tax will finance the development of urban infrastructure and the tourism industry. The amount of revenue will be announced after the rate is finalized.
Earlier, on August 6, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that the government would additionally allocate half a billion rubles to businesses in the border regions (Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod regions) and employees of these enterprises. He noted that thanks to this, enterprises will be able to retain their labor collectives and the necessary equipped facilities.
