- A shortlist of participants in the scholarship program of the Vysota Foundation has been announced
The V. P. Chichkanov Foundation for the Support of Young Scientists "Vysota" has announced a shortlist of 30 participants applying for a scholarship. The winners will be named in September, the foundation's press service said.
Among those shortlisted are 24-year—old Daniil Gorbunov (NES), who researches the productivity of Russian enterprises, as well as Ekaterina Moiseeva (Skoltech), who develops magnetic nanoparticles for early cancer diagnosis. Also on the list is Anastasia Dubovitskaya (VSU), who studies cysteine proteases in combination with synthetic polymers for anti—inflammatory therapy and wound healing.
Applicants will receive final interviews and the final vote of the expert council.
Applications for participation in the program were received from more than 1,000 people from all over the country. Over 400 applicants have prepared essays about their research.
"We have found that, unfortunately, 65% of graduate students in Russia do not complete their studies, this is mainly due to financial difficulties. Of course, the government is doing a lot to address this issue, and the situation is changing for the better — the prestige of science is growing. However, we are convinced that our contribution to this crucial process will definitely not be superfluous, especially now that we are facing new challenges and limitations in technological exchange between countries," said Roman Chichkanov, founder of the foundation, a technology entrepreneur in the field of preventive medicine and a public figure. — "We believe that the support of graduate students can provide an incredibly high multiplier in the economy in the medium and long term! And most importantly, it will significantly contribute to the achievement of technological sovereignty, the birth of new breakthrough ideas and the creation of innovative companies. We sincerely welcome any new ideas and suggestions that will help us build the future together! Let's create it together!"
Today, the foundation actively cooperates with 17 leading universities in the country, including Moscow State University, NES, MEPhI, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and many others. Vysota provides graduate students not only with financial support, but also with valuable mentors — experienced Russian scientists, successful young professionals, and large business leaders in charge of R&D. The foundation's expert council includes representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg State University, RANEPA, Skoltech, and many others.
According to the foundation, this year's initiative is aimed at targeted support for promising young researchers and accelerating their scientific growth — from grants and mentoring to organizational assistance and project promotion.
The press service also reported that the foundation is opening new areas of support for young scientists. In 2026, it is planned to be eligible for the Master's scholarship program. It is also expected to launch a new media outlet to create a positive image of the Russian scientist in the eyes of young people.
