A cephalgologist dispelled myths about migraines
Alexey Sergeev, MD, Associate Professor of the Department of Nervous Diseases and Neurosurgery at Sechenov University, President of the Russian Society for the Study of Headache, representative of the Russian Federation in the International Headache Society, Head of the Committee for the Study of Pain in Pediatrics of the Russian Society for the Study of Pain, specialist in pediatric and adult cephalgology, during a press conference on "Migraine: the situation today and a look into the future" in the press center of the Izvestia News Center named myths about migraines.
According to him, migraines are often perceived as just a headache. In fact, it is a chronic neurological disorder that is associated with disorders in the nervous system.
Another myth is that migraines are not treated. However, according to the expert, this is not the case.
In addition, Sergeev added, there is a misconception that migraines will outgrow. He noted that this disease does not disappear with age.
