The new British Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper, intends to visit Kiev in the near future in order to meet with the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky. This is evidenced by information published on September 12 on the website of the government of the country.

"The Minister of Foreign Affairs is due to visit the Cabinet of Ministers building in Kiev... The Foreign Secretary makes it clear that Ukraine is a priority for the UK," the ministry said in a statement.

It is specified that Cooper planned to allocate £142 million ($193.1 million) to Kiev in 2026, which should be used to support the country during the winter period. In addition, this amount is expected to be used to rebuild the infrastructure.

The minister, whose words are quoted in the text, called the support that her state provides to Kiev "unwavering and stronger than ever."

Britain also plans to allocate about $2.7 billion to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), which will be used to purchase weapons. This became known on September 9, after the conclusion of the 30th meeting of the contact group on arms supplies to Ukraine, which was attended by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Ukrainian Defense Minister Denis Shmyhal and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
