The German general called for the protection of the German military in Lithuania
Bundeswehr General Erhard Buehler called for the protection of the German military stationed in Lithuania. He said this on September 11 in an interview for the MDR broadcasting company.
"The work of the military security service in Lithuania should be facilitated to ensure the protection of soldiers and their relatives even outside the barracks," he said.
Buhler clarified that this practice differs from how it works in other countries, where guards deal only with what is related to the army and its property.
On May 22, German political scientist Ulrike Gero called the deployment of about 5,000 German troops near the border with Russia in Lithuania nonsense and said that such an action would have no real military significance. The expert also expressed concern about Berlin's political actions due to the fact that they lead to provocation.
