According to the decision of the Ministry of Education, the maximum time that students can spend on homework in all subjects is 3.5 hours, regardless of their class. This was announced on September 12 by the head of the Ministry Sergey Kravtsov.

"The total amount of homework in all subjects for each class should not exceed 3.5 hours," the head of the department said in an interview for RIA Novosti.

The head of the Ministry of Education explained that in addition to the general time limit for homework, there are specific standards for each class. So, in the 1st grade, homework is given no more than an hour, in grades 2-3, the time is increased to one and a half hours, in grades 4-5 - up to two hours, in grades 6-8 - up to two and a half hours, and in grades 9-11 - three hours.

It is clarified that these recommendations are coordinated with Rospotrebnadzor and take into account the age characteristics of students.

On September 9, the head of the Ministry of Education, Sergei Kravtsov, announced that the standard time had been approved, which should be allocated by schools to master each discipline. It was clarified that a certain amount of time has been allocated for studying each subject and after-school planning has been developed.
