- The Prosecutor General's Office announced its intention to seize the assets of the family of the ex-mayor of Vladivostok.
The Prosecutor General's Office plans to confiscate the assets of the Vostokcement and Renaissance group of companies based in Primorsky Krai in favor of the state. The total value of these companies, owned by the family of former Vladivostok mayor Igor Pushkarev, is estimated at more than 79 billion rubles. This was reported on September 11 by the newspaper Kommersant, citing the agency.
"The defendants in the lawsuit initiated by Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov are 12 individuals and legal entities. These are the parents of the former mayor of the capital of Primorye, Sergey and Tatiana Pushkareva, his siblings Vladimir and Andrey, his son Alexey, his wife Natalia, trusted representatives Alexey Sysoev, Viktor Ivanov, as well as the former head of the Directorate for the Construction of Facilities in the Vladivostok City District, Evgeny Deshchenko, who now heads a real estate development company with his son Artyom.JSC Renaissance Asset and its subsidiaries, as well as legal entities — JSC Betonych, JSC Dalcement and JSC Renaissance Asset, — stated in the material.
The lawsuit was sent to the capital, at the place of residence of Deshchenko Sr. The Tverskoy Court of Moscow has already considered the first criminal case of Igor Pushkarev.
On June 1, 2016, Pushkarev was detained by law enforcement officers and taken to Moscow. In March 2017, the Basmanny Court granted the investigation's request for Pushkarev's temporary removal from office.
According to investigators, in the period from 2008 to 2015, Igor Pushkarev received bribes, the total amount of which amounted to 75 million rubles. For the sake of this money, the official created obstacles for commercial organizations in order to prevent them from participating in municipal competitions in the field of road construction. In addition, close relatives of the mayor received dividends in the amount of 471.7 million rubles from the Vostokcement group of companies, which supplied materials to the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Roads of Vladivostok, which won the competition thanks to the assistance of Igor Pushkarev.
On April 9, 2019, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow sentenced Pushkarev to 15 years in a penal colony for corruption crimes. The court also imposed a fine of 500 million rubles on the former mayor.
