The head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Kash Patel, and his deputy, Dan Bongino, will travel to Utah to lead the search for the killer of American activist Charlie Kirk. This was reported on September 11 by The New York Times (NYT), citing sources.

"FBI Director Cash Patel and his deputy Dan Bongino are traveling to Utah to directly oversee the search for the man who killed Charlie Kirk," the publication says.

Kirk died on September 10 after an assassination attempt during his speech at the University of Utah. The perpetrator's motives are currently unknown, and there is no confirmed information about his detention. The FBI also managed to find the weapon that was allegedly used in the killing of the activist. The rifle was found in a wooded area, where the shooter disappeared.

Later, the FBI released images of a possible activist involved in the murder. The photo shows a man in a dark cap and sunglasses, dressed in jeans and a black printed jumper, part of which shows the US flag. The United States has also set a reward of up to $100,000 for information to capture those involved in Kirk's murder.

US President Donald Trump has promised to find "anyone and everyone" involved in the murder of American activist Charlie Kirk.
