Andrey Bobrovsky, a nutritionist, PhD, told us what foods are needed in autumn to promote health.

In an interview with Radio 1 on September 10, the expert noted that adults should consume 600-800 grams of vegetables and fruits daily — this is exactly the norm recommended by Rospotrebnadzor and WHO. At the same time, about two thirds should be vegetables (300-400 g), and a third should be fruits (200-300 g).

He stressed that today seasonality no longer restricts the diet, so the recommendation is valid all year round. In autumn, it is worth including melon crops in the menu — zucchini, pumpkin, squash, as well as various types of cabbage, rich in vitamins and healthy fiber. Sauerkraut is of particular importance as a natural probiotic, writes RT.

Bobrovsky also advises not to forget about carrots, beets, apples, berries (cranberries, sea buckthorn), nuts and seeds. Additionally, he drew attention to the autumn fish — salmon, trout and herring, rich in omega-3.
