SKA beat Traktor and won the first victory in the new KHL season.

The SKA hockey club from St. Petersburg beat Traktor Chelyabinsk in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) regular season match and thus won the first victory of the season. The match took place on September 11 and ended with a score of 5:2.

Matvey Korotky (14th minute), Matvey Polyakov (28th minute), Marat Khairullin (24th minute), Brennan Menell (47th minute) and Sergey Plotnikov (58th minute) scored goals for the St. Petersburg team. Pierrick Dube (28th) and Alexander Kadeikin (38th) scored for Chelyabinsk.

Both clubs will play their next matches on September 14: SKA will face Lada, and Traktor will face Sochi.

Earlier, on September 8, HC Torpedo beat St. Petersburg SKA in the KHL regular season match. The game ended with a score of 3:2 in favor of the Nizhny Novgorod team, among which forwards Egor Sokolov (7th minute), Vladislav Firstov (31st) and Egor Vinogradov (65th) scored goals. Strikers Nikolay Goldobin (22nd) and Sergey Plotnikov (51st) scored two goals for the losing team.
