The first stage of construction of a sports cluster in Kursk has been completed
A running track and a workout area were opened in the Boeva Dacha Park in Kursk as part of the first stage of construction of a modern sports cluster. The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the PSB, the head of the All-Russian Athletics Federation (VFLA) Peter Fradkov.
The cluster is being built in two stages. The first is the construction of a 3.6 km long running track with modern lighting and a workout area equipped with 60 exercise equipment, including for children and people with disabilities. Next year, as part of the second stage, a running center with changing rooms, showers, a storage area, and a stretching room will be built in Kursk.
"This project, which is being implemented by the VFLA with the financial support of the PSB, is of great strategic importance for the Kursk region," Fradkov said at the opening. According to the head of the PSB, the cluster not only solves the problems of shortage of high-quality sports grounds, but also forms a point of attraction for young people and adults, contributing to the popularization of mass sports and an active lifestyle.
The construction of a sports cluster has become another step in the development of athletics in the region, Fradkov believes.
