Krasnodar airport announced its readiness to resume flights
The staff and infrastructure of Krasnodar International Airport are ready to resume flights. Vasily Torgashin, Director of Public Relations at the Aerodynamika Airport holding, told Izvestia about this on September 11.
"The airport has a staff of employees, all of whom have the necessary skills thanks to regular training, training and internships at the operating Sochi airport. In addition to the staff, the airfield equipment, the airfield and the terminal are in full readiness," he said.
According to Torgashin, an additional taxiway was repaired at the airport last summer, as well as the facades of the terminals and the forecourt were repaired, the parking area was updated and navigation inside the terminal was improved. He noted that the painstaking and constant work to maintain the airport's readiness for operation has become one of the factors that make it possible to resume accepting civil aviation flights as soon as possible.
"The implementation of the largest investment project in the south of Russia, the construction of a new airport complex, which is already over 40% ready, has not stopped. The outlines of the future largest airport terminal in the Southern Federal District are visible, preparatory work has begun on the construction of an apron and taxiways," added Torgashin.
Vladimir Poteshin, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, in turn, in an interview with Izvestia, stressed that the airport's flight safety had been confirmed by an interdepartmental working group based on the Federal Air Transport Agency.
"The airport administration has done a lot of work, the training of personnel is provided at a high level. The airport is open for reception today," he said.
On the same day, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation announced that Krasnodar airport would be open for flight services from 09:00 Moscow time on September 11. The ministry recalled that Krasnodar Airport had not operated flights since the end of February 2022 for security reasons.
Later, Aeroflot launched ticket sales for flights to Krasnodar from Moscow and other regions of Russia. It was noted that at the initial stage, the frequency of flights between Moscow and Krasnodar will range from one to three flights per day. In the future, it is planned to increase the number of flights to five per day.
