Bloomberg reported on the spread of a deadly fungus in hospitals in Europe
Candidozyma auris (C. auris) fungus, which is difficult to treat and especially dangerous for debilitated patients, is rapidly spreading in European hospitals. This was reported by Bloomberg on September 11.
The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) warns that "according to the latest data for 2023, a record number of cases of fungal infection were registered in the region — 1346," which is 67% more than a year earlier.
