Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, which launched the production of frames for Sollers pickups on a new production line in August, does not plan to transfer the production of spar structures for UAZ Patriot, Pickup and Profi models to it. This was reported on September 11 by Quto, citing a source at the automobile plant.

A new production line with modern equipment was launched in August to produce Sollers ST6, ST8 and ST9 pickup truck frames at the facilities of UAZ-Stamping Production LLC. The company noted that it would significantly increase the automation of production processes, "ensuring high accuracy and stability of geometry."

"Frames for UAZ cars are also manufactured at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant site using modern equipment that meets all standards and guarantees high—quality products," the source said.

However, it is noted that, if necessary, it will be easy to load the Sollers line with parts for UAZ cars — it is enough to change the settings of the welding conductors, adapting the capacities to the output of the structural element for any model.

Earlier, on September 5, it was reported that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant is completing a test cycle of the upgraded 150-horsepower gasoline engine ZMZ Pro 2.7 liters. It will appear on UAZ Patriot, Pickup, Pro and Hunter vehicles.

Prior to that, on August 7, it became known that a new metal laser cutting site had been launched at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, which would increase the production volume of the UAZ Pickup and UAZ Profi models with a double cab by 30%, as well as improve product quality.
