The Ministry of Labor is considering the possibility of modernizing maternity capital, and more substantial support is needed for the birth of a second child. This was announced on September 11 by Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov at the plenary session of the VI Forum of Social Innovations of the Regions.

"We understand that the modernization of maternity capital is also needed, today this measure is in demand, but its effect is weakening. We need more substantial support for the birth of our second child. We are currently working with colleagues, with the participation of the Federation Council, on possible approaches, taking into account support for second and subsequent births," TASS quoted him as saying.
