US President Donald Trump has handed over a letter to his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko as a "special sign of friendship" for the birthday of the President of Belarus. The message was delivered to Minsk on September 11 by John Cole, Deputy Special Representative of the United States for Ukraine and Belarus.

"Dear Mr. Lukashenko, Melania joins me in conveying our best wishes on the occasion of your birthday," a member of the Belarusian delegation quoted the text of the letter at the talks.
