The Russian Ministry of Sports has no plans to introduce a salary cap for football players playing in the Russian Premier League (RPL). This was announced on September 11 by the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Mikhail Degtyarev.

"I'm not going to introduce a salary cap, the clubs can agree, please, if they agree, I won't interfere. If the clubs agree on a tax on foreign players, then I am the minister and chairman of the Russian Olympic Committee," he told reporters.
