The "yellow" weather danger level due to fog has been extended in the Moscow region until Friday. The Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation announced this on Thursday, September 11.
"The warning period is from 3:00 a.m. on September 12 to 11:00 a.m. on September 12. Fog is expected in places on the territory of the region at night and in the morning, with reduced visibility up to 200 m," the Moscow City News agency quotes the message.
On September 10, Arkady Tishkov, chief researcher at the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said that radiation fog is absolutely safe for humans, RT reports. According to the expert, radiation in science is any flow of energy in the form of particles or waves.
Earlier, on September 9, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the region reported that fog with a visibility of 200-700 m is expected in the Moscow region from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning.
The agency recommended that drivers turn on their fog lights, keep an increased distance, and avoid sudden maneuvers. Pedestrians were advised to be careful when crossing the road, and if possible, use reflective elements on their clothes.
On September 5, the head of the Meteo forecasting center, Alexander Shuvalov, told NSN that fogs are possible in the region at night from September 12-13.
