Sobyanin spoke about the development of transport links with the Moscow region
The Moscow authorities, together with the government of the Moscow Region, have decided to launch public transport routes that will connect the two regions. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
"This year, we will include 25 existing adjacent interregional routes in the north-western and western directions in the Moscow transport system," the mayor wrote in his channel in the IACH. These steps, according to Sobyanin, will improve the comfort of transportation, as well as give "an additional impetus to the development of transport infrastructure in the Moscow region."
The mayor recalled that the first two routes were launched in July: No. 1434 (former No. 434) from Planernaya metro station to Eden residential complex, as well as No. 1343 (former No. 343) from Belomorskaya metro station to Novogorsk microdistrict in Khimki.
In September, it is planned to launch four more routes that will connect Moscow and Khimki: from Planernaya metro station to Auchan, from Skhodnenskaya to Velton Park residential complex and Mishino residential complex, as well as from Belomorskaya to Klyazma microdistrict.
As Sobyanin noted, passengers will be able to purchase tickets for the first time without limiting the number of trips. A special design has been developed for buses of adjacent inter-regional routes, which will help distinguish them from urban ones.
"By 2028, we are going to include at least 30% of the existing inter—regional routes of land urban transport in the urban transport system," said the mayor of Moscow.
Earlier in September, Sergei Sobyanin announced the completion of a large-scale program to upgrade the rolling stock of the Moscow Central Diameters. The average age of rolling stock has been reduced by five times, from 23 years to 4.5 years.
According to the mayor, 4.5 thousand modern wagons were received during the renovation program of the IDC. "The importance of the Moscow central diameters lies in the fact that they transport the majority of suburban passengers in the country as a whole. This is 1.6 million daily residents of Moscow, the Moscow region and other nearby regions," Sobyanin said.
