More than 400 camera complexes will be installed at the MSD in Moscow.
It is planned to install more than 400 video analytics systems on the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD), one of the most popular highways in the capital, to cover the route 100%. This was reported on September 11 by TASS with reference to the data center.
The data center explained that the video review system allows you to accurately assess traffic, taking into account the number of cars, accidents and emergency situations such as a car on fire or a fallen tree, as well as quickly respond to incidents to minimize secondary accidents and improve safety.
Currently, more than 1.5 thousand video analytics complexes are operating on the MKAD, MSD and other key highways. To warn other drivers about the incident, experts display messages on information boards and controlled road signs, there are more than 200 of them on the MKAD. Smart cameras have transmitted more than 1.1 million incidents on the MKAD to the situation center since the beginning of the year.
Such cameras cover 100% of the route without blind spots and have high resolution, the data center noted. Using a neural network, they automatically analyze the video stream in real time and record 13 types of incidents on the roadway. These are pedestrians who have entered the highway; stopping a car or foreign objects on the road; smoke or fire; moving a car in a prohibited direction; congestion; stopping in a lane, and so on.
Earlier, on September 9, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that since the launch of traffic along the main course of the Moscow Ring Road two years ago, over 400 thousand motorists began using the high-speed diameter every day. According to him, the main feature of the highway is that most of it runs along overpasses.
