- FT reported on Trump's decision to suspend the deportation of workers from South Korea
By order of US President Donald Trump, the deportation of hundreds of South Korean workers detained during an immigration raid at a Hyundai-LG battery factory in the United States has been temporarily halted. This was reported on September 11 by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper, citing South Korean officials.
"Trump has stopped the deportation of hundreds of South Korean workers arrested during an immigration raid," the article says.
According to South Korean diplomats, Trump has asked officials to convince the workers detained at the Georgia plant to stay in the United States. The head of the White House noted that the detained Koreans are qualified specialists, and suggested that they stay to train American workers.
It clarifies that many of the detainees are in a depressed state, and therefore they were asked to first return to South Korea and then, if necessary, continue working in the United States.
On August 26, the South China Morning Post newspaper reported on Trump's decision to allow 600,000 Chinese students to study at universities in the United States. He also called this step "very important."
Since coming to power on January 20, Trump has repeatedly advocated stricter immigration policy. He stated that he intended to ensure the largest operation in American history to deport illegal migrants.
