The mayor of Mexico City, Clara Brugada, reported 57 injuries as a result of the explosion of a gas tanker truck in the capital of Mexico. She announced this on September 11.
"I would like to inform you that as a result of the overturning of a gas tanker truck in Puente de la Concordia, the fire that broke out and the explosion that followed, 57 people have been injured at the moment, 19 of whom are in serious condition. There is no information about the dead yet," she wrote in X (ex. Twitter).
Brugada also reported that roads in the capital remain closed, and public transport is disrupted.
She also thanked municipal, local and federal agencies for their support in the emergency situation.
