Moscow and Tashkent approve a number of aspects for Russian citizens to enter Uzbekistan using internal passports. This was reported to Izvestia on September 11 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic.

"The negotiation process on this issue is ongoing and the necessary domestic procedures are underway. Currently, the parties are working in coordination on certain aspects, so it is premature to talk about specific deadlines for implementation," the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.

Earlier, in May, it was reported that Uzbekistan plans to allow citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to enter the territory of the republic using internal passports.

On September 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed to the dynamic development of relations between Russia and Uzbekistan. The Head of State expressed confidence in the further expansion of Russian-Uzbek relations in all areas. According to him, this meets the interests of the two peoples and contributes to maintaining security in Central Asia.
