The gardener revealed the best recipe for pickles
TV presenter, author of books on gardening and horticulture, candidate of agricultural Sciences Oktiabrina Ganichkina told how best to salt vegetables.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Wednesday, September 10, the expert noted that it is best to salt green tomatoes: when frozen, they should be harvested and twisted — then they turn out to be especially tasty and tender. According to her, you can salt almost any vegetable, including zucchini.
She emphasized that vegetables should be marinated in jars, and shared a recipe for cucumbers: add dill seeds, onion, garlic, allspice, salt, sugar and vinegar to a three-liter jar, then pour boiling water over everything.
In addition, the specialist reminded that vegetables stored on the balcony should be sorted regularly to prevent the appearance of rot. Carrots and beets, if they are already sluggish, will not last long and deteriorate quickly.
On September 9, Ganichkina told us how and where to store vegetables. According to her, watermelons, melons, beets, carrots and a number of other vegetables and fruits can be put in bags, writes RT.
On August 5, experts told us what to do with an excess of zucchini, which must be kept cool. For example, you can freeze them by pre-slicing them. They should also be soaked in boiling water before freezing, cooled and soaked from moisture, notes 360.ru .
In July, Roskachestvo warned about the dangers of improperly harvesting homemade pickles. The main danger of home preservation is botulism: it develops without air, does not change the taste and appearance of the product, so even a "normal" jar can be deadly.
Earlier, chef Alexey Onegin said that to make fluffy squash fritters, you need to add a teaspoon of baking powder to the mass. The pancakes will be tender and with a bright zucchini flavor, writes NSN.
