Netanyahu accused the Qatari authorities of "harboring terrorists"
For the first time since the attacks on Hamas leaders in Doha, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly mentioned Qatar and accused the country of "harboring terrorists." This was reported on September 10 by the Times of Israel newspaper.
"I declare to Qatar and all the countries that harbor terrorists: 'Either you expel them, or you bring them to justice. Because if you don't do it, we will," Netanyahu said.
In addition, Netanyahu compared the strike by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) against the top leadership of Hamas with the US operations that were carried out after the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.
A Hamas negotiating delegation that arrived in the Qatari capital of Doha to discuss a plan proposed by the United States for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip was attacked on September 9.
On the same day, the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres, condemned the Israeli strikes on Qatar, calling them a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this state.
The Russian Foreign Ministry regards the Israeli strike on Doha as a gross violation of international law and the UN Charter. In addition, the Russian ministry stressed that the rocket attack on Qatar, which plays an important role in mediation between Hamas and Israel, is aimed at undermining international efforts to find peaceful solutions to end the conflict.
