Summer residents were warned about mistakes when pruning trees

The use of a mower or any other similar tool for pruning shrubs and trees is strictly unacceptable. Nikita Chaplin, a State Duma deputy and chairman of the Union of Summer Residents of the Moscow region, said this on Wednesday, September 10.

In his opinion, this method is not pruning, but the barbaric destruction of the plant, since it is almost guaranteed to "open the gates" to fungal infections, bacteria and pests, which can eventually destroy even a strong tree or bush.

"Pruning is a surgical operation for a plant, and it must be carried out with an appropriate sterile and sharp instrument — a pruner, a knot cutter or a garden saw. It is important not only when and what to cut, but also at what angle to make the cut so that it can be quickly tightened. The mower cripples the plant, leaving a lot of broken, soaked branches," Chaplin emphasized in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

The expert added that it is dangerous to leave unprocessed plant residues affected by diseases for the winter, as well as to store garbage in the aisles or around the perimeter of the site. In addition, Chaplin recalled that in autumn, watering should be sufficient, but not excessive, so that the root system of trees can go into winter prepared.

He explained that the owner of a garden or garden plot of land does not have the right to alienate it separately from an apartment building, garden house, outbuildings and garage located on it.

On June 27, as part of the new project "Suburban Cottages", the first office for interaction with summer residents and gardeners was opened in Shchelkovo, where people can consult and get help in ensuring legal protection of private property, the Moscow City News agency reports.
