Harris called Biden's decision to run for a second term "reckless."
Former US Vice President Kamala Harris said in her memoirs that her closest political circle, including herself, considered ex-President Joe Biden's decision to run for a second term to be "reckless." This was reported on August 10 by Newsmax with reference to Harris' memoirs.
"This is the decision of Joe [Biden] and [his wife] Jill. We all repeated it like a mantra, as if we were all hypnotized. Looking back, I think it was reckless. The stakes were simply too high. This is not a choice that should be left to the discretion of the individual, his ambitions. It had to be more than just a personal decision," Harris is quoted as saying.
In the book, Harris also talked about her difficult relationship with Biden, whose inner circle, according to the former vice president, "pushed her into the background." She also believed that many of Biden's entourage disliked her for "performing too well."
Earlier, on July 30, The Washington Post reported that Harris had not ruled out the possibility of running for the post of head of the White House. According to research conducted by Echelon Insights, it has potential support. If the preliminary elections were held now, 26% of the respondents would vote for her.
