Russians were given a way to protect children from dropper schemes of scammers
Teenagers become easy prey for the organizers of dropper schemes, as the apparent safety and simplicity of such schemes, multiplied by the natural desire for financial independence for young people, often outweighs critical perception. Sergey Kuzmenko, head of the Roskachestvo Digital Expertise Center, said this on Wednesday, September 10.
The expert noted that teenagers are attracted to messengers and social networks with supposedly simple offers of "quick earnings", for example, they are only asked to provide bank card details for transfers.
Kuzmenko stressed that some methods of parental control can help, but in adulthood such restrictions are often perceived as prohibitions, which pushes teenagers to adventurous actions.
"In our opinion, the most effective way of protection is not control, but an open dialogue between adults and adolescents," the Roskachestvo expert said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .
He added that teenagers should understand that their personal data — phone number, card details, accounts in social networks and online games - are valuable to intruders.
Earlier that day, BI.ZONE, a digital risk management company, warned that fraudsters plan to disguise phishing resources more often before the meeting of the Central Bank of Russia on the key rate under proposals supposedly to invest profitably and maintain a high deposit rate, IA Regnum reports.
It is specified that in this way the attackers will try to steal data or directly steal money, the website says. kp.ru .
On September 9, the Department for Combating the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported that fraudsters in Russia use malicious applications to deceive victims by posing as employees of banks, law enforcement agencies or technical support. The attackers create a hidden copy of the card on the victim's device, which is called a "drop card".
