Vance pointed out two main problems in resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
Negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian crisis are focused on two main issues — territories and security guarantees. This was announced on September 10 by Vice President of the United States Jay Dee Vance in an interview with One America News channel.
"We are now at a point where we have at least narrowed down all the problems to a couple of main ones. One of the issues is territorial <...>. Ukrainians want security guarantees from the Europeans or someone else," Vance said in an interview broadcast on the YouTube channel.
He also added that Kiev wants to be sure that if a peace agreement is reached, the conflict will not happen again.
On the same day, Vance announced that the United States was continuing to work on resolving the conflict. According to the Vice President, reaching a peace agreement is in the interests of both the Ukrainian and Russian sides.
On September 9, American leader Donald Trump announced that he was still determined to achieve a settlement in Ukraine. He added that the resolution of the conflict seemed to him the "simplest" of all, but the situation was complicated allegedly because of "mutual hostility" at the leadership level.
