The court granted Emelianenko's petition for parole
The Alekseevsky District Court of the Belgorod region granted the request of Russian MMA fighter Ivan Emelianenko for parole. This was reported on September 10 by a correspondent of Izvestia.
Emelianenko will be released in 15 days.
The fighter participated in the meeting via video link. His lawyer stated that after his release, the man intends to lead a law-abiding lifestyle. He added that the victim has no complaints against him and does not object to parole. The prosecutor also supported the motion.
Speaking in court, Emelianenko said he apologized to the man he had beaten and paid him compensation.
"I realized my guilt, I should never have committed such an act," he explained.
The application for parole was filed on August 23. In December 2024, Emelianenko was sentenced to one and a half years in prison under the article on intentionally causing serious harm to health. In the spring of 2024, he got into a street conflict with a man who had insulted his family, and punched the offender in the face several times.
On August 26, the state prosecution requested a four-year and one-month prison sentence for Hardcore Fighting MMA fighter Jabrail Aliyev. According to investigators, on the night of July 27, 2024, a man brutally beat a 26-year-old girl in a house on Bersenevskaya Embankment in Moscow. She suffered multiple head injuries, as well as bruises. The athlete was detained on July 31.
