Qatar to prepare legal action against Netanyahu for Doha airstrike
The Qatari authorities have instructed a group of lawyers to consider holding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accountable for the attacks on Doha. This was reported on September 10 by Al Jazeera TV channel.
"The government has instructed the legal group to consider the possibility of holding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accountable for violating international law in connection with yesterday's strikes by the Israeli Air Force on Doha, which were aimed at destroying Hamas members," the statement said.
A Hamas negotiating delegation that arrived in the Qatari capital of Doha to discuss a plan proposed by the United States for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip was attacked on September 9.
On the same day, the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Anthony Guterres, condemned the Israeli strikes on Qatar, calling them a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this state.
The Russian Foreign Ministry regards the Israeli strike on Doha as a gross violation of international law and the UN Charter. In addition, the Russian ministry stressed that the rocket attack on Qatar, which plays an important role in mediation between Hamas and Israel, is aimed at undermining international efforts to find peaceful solutions to end the conflict.
