Qatar intends to file a lawsuit against Netanyahu after the Doha strike
The Qatari authorities have instructed a team of lawyers to study the possibility of bringing international charges against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in connection with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) strike on the leaders of the Palestinian radical movement Hamas, who were in the Qatari capital Doha. This was reported on September 10 by The Times of Israel newspaper, citing sources.
It is clarified that on September 9, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani called the strike "terrorism sponsored by the Netanyahu state" and said that Doha reserves the right to respond.
According to the newspaper, Netanyahu is already wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
On September 9, the IDF press service reported attacks on the top leadership of the Hamas movement. The IDF stressed that measures had been taken before the strike to minimize damage to the civilian population. Thus, the strikes were carried out with precision weapons and additional intelligence data was used.
At the same time, on September 9, The Washington Post newspaper stated that the Israeli Mossad intelligence service, together with the White House, promised Qatar that there would be no strikes or attacks on Hamas leaders in Doha.
Shortly after, the Palestinian movement reported that six people were killed in the attack, including the son of Hamas leader Khalil al-Haya and a Qatari officer. The movement's negotiating team survived.
